I bought several of these locks to secure my kayak, canoe and motorboat after someone stole my canoe right out of my backyard. The big advantage of this lock is that the cable can slip through a small opening, like a dock cleat or the pre-drilled hole in the bow of my kayak. The locks worked fine for the first year, but after a year of being outside the lock corroded to the point where I couldn’t even insert a key in the lock.
